That wasn’t an inconvenient truth, I found it quite fascinating, and something I will certainly read more up on. Several years ago I received a cold call offering me an investment opportunity in carbon credits, I didn’t know what they were, although I suspected they were an unethical means of making money out of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and told him to piss off, I have never thought any more of it till now, but it would appear my suspicions were correct.

This thread is not about Covid-19

I thought this would be "obvious", but apparently ...
by Simon inif you want to share a conspiracy video that is going to be removed by youtube, maybe sharing a link to a copy that is hosted on youtube isn't the best plan.. who knew?!.
social media is no longer the platform to use for controversial, alternative or "wrong think" opinions.. host it if you feel strongly about it, but don't keep posting "this video has been removed" links, it's a waste of everyone's time..

So it's confirmed, not only am I mentally diseased, I am evidently also suffering with a syndrome. Oh well, I understand it’s not fatal so I’ll just have to live with it.
The media were keen to promote it. What does that say about them?
I’m not sure what you mean by promote, but if you mean highlight, emphasize and ridicule, then it tells me they’re doing their job. If Boris Johnson made such a crass statement, I'm sure the UK media would pillory him. But what does it say about someone who calls another person highlighting it a “Typical TDS sufferer, repeating a false narrative” claiming that “it’s no different to a … hoax”? Oh, and I thought we weren’t allowed to use the words “orange-man” here, but I guess it’s OK if we put it in quotes. I have never called Donald “orange-man” myself, I think that’s far too complimentary.
The media really are the enemy of the people.
I disagree, I believe the likes of Cambridge Analytica are the real enemies of the people.

This thread was initially intended to give a little encouragement that even after 50 years, a born in can wake up. Unfortunately our meet for the end of March was obviously cancelled and I haven’t heard from my niece since then, so nothing more to report on that, and I don’t want to push her for any info.
However I did get my first nuisance call since February today, and would you believe, I then (just like the buses) got another (well my wife actually got them because I was getting the weekly shop). So it looks like the scammers are out of lock down and back at work.
As for paying more for ecologically damaging energy, I approve. And I’m quite happy to call those who insist the climate isn’t warming “global warming deniers”, and as I said before, even Martin Durkin isn’t one of those – or should I say he wasn’t one, for he now argues that warming has reached its hiatus. That’s a shame, I was looking forward to the south of England becoming another French Riviera. -

I may well be suffering from TDS, and be too dumb to notice the lies, but I’m not that dumb to even think of considering injecting disinfectant - that’s utter lunacy. Just as closing down the task force would have been - I understand he announced he’d changed his mind the following day via his favourite channel of communication. Or was all that fake news, it’s so hard to tell over here with our biased and lying media. I know UV light can destroy viruses on a surface, but what evidence is there that it can be effective once the virus is inside the body?

I get that StephaneLaliberte, but I don’t suppose your Prime Minister spends quite so much of his time blaming the world and his wife via Twitter for everything that’s gone wrong. I’m no fan of Boris Johnson here in the UK, and we have likewise made a lot of mistakes, but I have to admit that Boris has handled the whole affair with a professionalism and rationalism that has surprised me and makes Trump look like a complete amateur.
It must be hard to be a Trump supporter. You want your leader to be strong and decisive, but to be thoughtful and level headed; to show imagination and intellect, and above all govern with wisdom. Instead you get a man who changes his mind via Twitter and constantly comes out with something even more stupid than the last stupid thing he said, and his only answer to a critical question is to insult the questioner. Well good luck with the disinfectant, has anyone tried it yet? And how about that UV source down your throat, how did that work?

Yep, more and more of them are moving in that direction. I'm told there's one that won't allow any posts critical of Donal Trump, claiming such people must be suffering from some sort of disorder.

On the subject of the magazines, wasn't that 25c the cost to the public? The average publisher paid slightly less, and pioneers paid a fraction of that. Just another factor to consider when estimating the profit margin on them.

The paradox exists only if God exists, therefore I must conclude that he doesn’t. If He can create Jesus perfect in every way, then he can create everybody perfect in every way. That is not turning right and left at the same time. The idea that he has created the planet such that He has to balance the death of 20 by flood in Florida against hundreds by famine in Ethopia is about as fatuous as you can get. All the arguments in favour of God’s “mysterious ways” in allowing Evil boil down to attempts to justify the unjustifiable. So let me ask a question about the existence of Evil – who benefits from it?

Does prophesy negate free will?
by Tim207 innot sure if this is in the right subject but here it goes.
i’ve asked this question to a few elders and bethelites but they don’t seem to understand or like the question.
to start off we have to agree that jehovah is all powerful.

From a JW perspective, there is another branch from the “Then why is there Evil?” box, i.e.
I dare say other branches from this box could be dreamt up, but so far they all lead to a God that is either limited and imperfect, or simply doesn’t exist. Oh, there is a third option of course, that he’s an evil pile of shit who deserves nothing but utter contempt.
